Well, not exactly in the Central Business District Area, just to the south of it. I was standing on a high platform on the new constructed Sembulan River Park - an attempt by the Kota Kinabalu City Hall to rejuvenate an area that until very recently was rather a mix of commercial and residential areas. It isn't that really a mix - as in the TOD (Transit Oriented Development) that kind of thing. As you rotate the photo above, the residential areas are located across the commercial area. The City Hall and developers are very interested to bring urban renewal to the area - starting with the river park.
